Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada but grew up in the U.S. She's worked as a media critic since 1995. Feminist Frequency provides videos, comments and an analysis of how popular culture depicts women. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning Canadian-American feminist media critic and blogger. Feminist Frequency is a not-for profit website that focuses on the representation of women in pop stories of culture - was created and directed by Sarkeesian. As well as working to expose the issues surrounding sexual harassment and attacks on women, others of minority groups in the online world, she is determined to break the stereotypes in the pop culture. Sarkeesian has a Master's degree in political and social thinking at York University. As a public speaker, she's extremely sought-after and has spoken at TEDxWomenXOXO as well as the United Nations Broadband Working Group. Feminist Frequency was founded on the 9th of September 2009 by Sarkeesian. a University student who has been involved in topics related to gender and feminism for quite a considerable period of period of. She was a young woman determined to make a series of web videos which would explore gender roles in video games. However, she became victimized by online harassment.
